Want to know the scariest part? I looked up last year's results for the race... only 83 people ran it... 83!!!! Usually the races that I run in have 500-1200 people! This is going to be the 2nd year that they are holding this race.
So.. here are the possibilities of what may happen tomorrow:
- Everyone who ran it last year thought the race was a bust and won't run it again
- They'll invite all their friends and family and more people will be running it
- There will only be 10 people and I will come in 10th.
A side note:
The good thing about running races? A lot of people don't think about this but races provide opportunities for service. As you're running your guts out and sweating out your ears- you're actually supporting causes like breast cancer, mental illness and hunger awareness, etc... See.. I might be crazy- but to run with a purpose other than to pin a number on your shirt isn't that bad. I will continue to pay to run races and I will be even more excited when that race is for service. Tomorrow I will be supporting Wasatch Mental Health patients.
